First Steps for Starting a Business

Thinking about going into business? Spend one evening getting a clear picture of what it’s really like to run a small business. Assess your own strengths and weaknesses as a business owner. Learn how to analyze the potential for your business; trends and business lifecycles. Discover what information you need and where to find it; licensing and permits, legal structures and how to register your business.  Through hands on exercises and peer interaction you’ll define your potential ideal customer, explore market research resources and learn the basics of financing your business.  See article: “Business School in a Night”

Are You Ready to Start Your Own Business?

This workshop is geared toward micro-business and self employment. Through hands on exercises, peer interaction and group brainstorming you will: assess your entrepreneurial strengths and abilities, identify your skills and natural talents, analyze your values, personality type, motivators and lifestyle preferences and consider how they impact starting a business.  Explore the shift from the employee to the entrepreneurial mindset, get online business basics and identify a business model that’s right for you!
